The unseasonal tropical heatwave had fortunately departed, but the sun still shone at The Wychwood today for our Autumn 3-Ball Alliance. Twenty teams enjoyed playing on the beautifully presented course which showcased for the first time to many of our players its amended 18th hole. Thank you to everyone who played and gave so generously to the 'Ball Sweep' which raised £104 for Cancer Research which is the Club's chosen Charity. The Finals Day for the Captain's Trophy Interclub Knockout competition was played at Drayton Park GC on one of the hottest days of this year. The competing teams of Oxford Ladies & Frilford Heath and Studley Wood & Tadmarton Heath took their matches to the final holes in the morning's semi-finals. The Midlands' South Championships this year were held at the challenging Cherwell Edge GC in Northants and were open to girls from the 6 counties of the Midlands' South region.Girls either played a 36 hole medal round or 18 hole stableford round and this year Oxfordshire had 3 players in the 36 hole event and 2 players in the 18 hole event.Congratulations go to Ava Fegan-Smith who won the Stableford Competition with a great score of 39 points!Congratulations also to Phoebe Simons who came...

After an exhausting two rounds of golf, the team from Frilford Heath (sitting on the right) emerged victorious as winners of the OLCGA President's Trophy 2023. The Bronze team from Tadmarton Heath GC, captained by Judy Hughes, collected the Ann Starkey Trophy today by winning against Oxford Ladies GC in the morning semi-final and 2-1 against Frilford Heath GC in the afternoon final. Congratulations to Faith Trinder who won our Summer Meeting which was held at Feldon Valley Golf Club on Monday 24th July.  Following the heavy rain at the weekend which proved challenging for the Professionals I was dubious as I drove up the M40 in the pouring rain. However the rain stopped and the clouds thinned and a wonderful afternoon of golf followed. County Shield 2023

Near perfect conditions for golf resulted in some very good scores at Witney Lakes today with 18 teams competing for the County Shield over 27 holes.
