Frilford Heath Golf Club
Frilford Heath Golf Club is situated in South Oxford in over 500 acres
of rolling heathland. This sensational golf club offers three stunning
golf courses with 54 holes of championship golf to test golfers of all
standards. The golf club also offers a full diary of golf events for
golfers who like to socialise and enjoy healthy competition. There is
also a clubhouse and restaurant for golfers to enjoy either before or
after their game of golf.
The Golf Course(s)
Red Course
The Red Course is Frilford Heath’s most prestigious golf course. Designed by the Open Champion, JH Taylor in 1908 and described by Bernard Darwin as “both good and difficult” this course will provide a real championship challenge. The course is 6,912 yards and the fairways run fast testing your accuracy.
Blue Course
The Blue Course is the golf clubs most recent addition and was opened in 1994. The course was designed by Oxfordshire architect Simon Gidman. The 6,728 yard course sets out a challenge and there is a 600 yard monster hole which requires pinpoint accuracy on the drive. There is also bunkering to be wary of as well as other hazards along the way to test a golfer’s skill.
Green Course
The Green Course is the shortest of the three golf courses at Frilford Heath but don’t let that put you off. It is a par 69 course meaning that it is harder than a golfer usually expects and with a number of strong par fours on the homeward stretch the round can be tough. However, there is usually a smile to be had as the closing hole is only 298 yards.
