The second team league got underway on Sunday 30th May at Bagdemore Park, where we took on Buckinghamshire. Karen and Grace led the way in the foursomes with a tight match going all the way to the 18th and securing a half. Nikki and Sarah followed with another half, another close match with it going either way. Clare and Sally had tough opponents and narrowly missed out. With the scores being 2-1 to Buckinghamshire, it was all to play for in the afternoon.

Clare led the way in the afternoon singles, holing clutch putts on 14 and 15 resulted in a 3 & 2 win. Nikki unfortunately came up against a tough opponent who didn't miss a fairway or a putt! Grace made her debut in singles and what a debut....an awesome 6 & 5 win! Sarah fought hard against a steady opponent who unfortunately came out on top. Sally had a great match getting the win on 16! This left the teams both on 4 points, it all came down to the final match on the course. Karen was 3 down after 14, after winning 15 & 16 she stuck her approach to 6 foot on 17 and holed the putt for a birdie. Going down 18 all square meant it was all to play for, both players hit great tee shots however Buckinghamshire holed a great pressure putt to get the win.

An amazing first match of the season, both teams played great golf with lots of putts being holed. A tight 5-4 loss to Buckinghamshire - congratulations to Bucks!
