Carol Cooke Captures the Cup - Bamberger Trophy 2024

The Bamberger Trophy has come to its conclusion for 2024 following the final round which was hosted by Witney Lakes Golf Club on Monday 14th October.

29 players representing 15 different clubs started out in this competition in May of this year. After a summer of knockout matches the two finalists, Jackie Topliss of Frilford Heath and Carol Cooke from Feldon Valley, met to contest the Final.

Witney Lakes were excellent hosts for this match and, despite considerable rainfall, presented a course fit for play. Our thanks to Sean and Stuart for their support and attention to detail. County President Christine Bishop watched the players set off from the first tee. As befitting a final, the match was nip and tuck all the way, with the result eventually determined on the 19th hole.

Congratulations to both players for reaching the final. The Woodburn-Bamberger Trophy will be presented to Carol Cooke at this year’s OLCGA AGM, which will be
held at Frilford Heath GC on Monday January 27th 2025 at 11.00am.
