Congratulations to Faith Trinder who won our Summer Meeting which was held at Feldon Valley Golf Club on Monday 24th July.  Following the heavy rain at the weekend which proved challenging for the Professionals I was dubious as I drove up the M40 in the pouring rain. However the rain stopped and the clouds thinned and a wonderful afternoon of golf followed. We were delighted to host our Junior Girls’ Championship at Badgemore Park Golf Club with a small group of just 9 girls this year. It was rather a cold day to begin with  but fortunately  the sun did eventually shine. The course was challenging with quick greens testing the putting; nevertheless some wonderful golf shots were played by all girls! Sunday the 19th of March saw the 8th annual match between Oxfordshire County Junior girls and Kirtlington and Tadmarton boys, held at Tadmarton GC this year. It was brilliant to see so many people involved, with 5 pairs matches taking to the tee. We were delighted to be able to host our fun Christmas Scramble at Kirtlington Golf Club on the Blenheim Course for the first time since 2019. A dry day beckoned though the wind was biting, and this encouraged a speedy nine holes of golf! Everyone was in good spirits, and we had an amusing array of Christmas hats and jumpers!! We had a wonderful day yesterday at Burford Golf Club hosting The Nicola Sparks' Memorial Competition with 15 girls playing in either the 18 hole or 9 hole event.Conditions were tricky - drizzle early on but luckily changing quickly to a beautiful sunny day - however any ball straying slightly off the fairway was difficult to find under the leaves. Congratulations to Grace Beardsley who won our Summer Meeting which was held at Drayton Park Golf Club on Monday 1st August.Drayton Park provided plenty of challenges with water, trees and long grass but this did not phase Grace who scored a handicap reducing 38 points, a very impressive score when you add in  the oppressive, muggy heat on Monday. Congratulations to Sienna Fegan-Smith who became our 2022 Pre-Handicap Champion and won the Junior Captain's Trophy on Sunday.This was a very close event with the winning score being decided on countback between 3 players and a difference of only 2 shots between all the girls. Well done to all the girls - they each played some wonderful golf shots on the Blenheim Course at Kirtlington Golf Club.
