Congratulations to Elizabeth Ball who won our first competition of the year, the Spring Meeting at North Oxford Golf Club, with a score of 38 points. Oxfordshire Junior Girls had a very successful day at Burford Golf Club competing for the three Nicola Sparks' Memorial Trophies. This event is held annually and is a highlight of the year. Amelia Seal from Shrivenham Park won the 18 hole stableford with 38 points. Oxfordshire Girls travelled to Bristol on Sunday to play the annual friendly singles match against Gloucestershire Girls. A sunny and bright day dawned but a brisk wind made for tricky conditions - though the Oxfordshire team coped well and completed an emphatic 6 - 1 victory! Congratulations to Lara Murphy who won our Summer Meeting which was held at Shrivenham Park Golf Club on Monday 2nd August.This is the first time that we have held a Junior competition at Shrivenham Park and despite looking flat and open from the clubhouse there proved to be some very challenging holes! Our annual, invitational match against the Oxfordshire Boys is always an enjoyable encounter and this year was no exception. As ever, the match was keenly fought by both sides and 2 - 2 was a fair & amicable result. Congratulations to Ava Fegan-Smith who this week won the Junior British Masters Under 12  9 hole competition on the Robert Rock Tour. The event was was held at The Belfry and Ava played the Brabazon Course from the red tees. The course has lots of water and bunkers to negotiate but clearly these were not a problem for Ava! It was very close for all 9 holes but Ava won on the 9th - a par 4 hole of 348 yards where she sunk a 7 foot putt for a 5 nett eagle! Ava is currently top of the Order...
