On 14th August, Drayton Park's Ruth Mackay and Lynne Tattershall played in the national final of the 2024 Australian Spoons competition at Woodhall Spa.The Australian Spoons, a stableford foursomes competition for women with a Handicap Index® between 15.0 and 54.0, takes place every year with qualifying rounds run by clubs, a regional final and then the national final.Ruth and Lynne blew away the competition, finishing with 37 points. The annual County Shield competition was held at Tadmarton Heath Golf Club on Monday 24th June. An enforced player withdrawal overnight saw an early breakfast discussion of how best to reconfigure the day's team. This year’s Midlands South County Week is being held at Fulford Heath Golf Club just outside Birmingham. In the annual handicap match versus Berkshire, our county girls played admirably. Led out by captain Phoebe on a Hadden Hill course looking splendid in the sunshine, Oxfordshire won comfortably in 3 matches and the overall score was 4-1.
